2014 DUI AWARENESS AND PREVENTION WEEK
April 21 – April 25

Monday, April 21st

Roll Over Simulator & Law Enforcement Car Show – This will be available to Seniors and Juniors Only during 1st, 2nd and 3rd Lunch.  A sign-up sheet will be placed outside of Ofc. Dodd’s office to track which students have participated.  The simulator is designed to show students the dangers of not wearing a seatbelt when they are involved in a vehicle collision. Members of the Hanahan Police Department, and other local law enforcement agencies will be on campus displaying different types of vehicles and equipment used for DUI Enforcement.

Tuesday, April 22nd & Wednesday, April 23rd   

Driving Course and Field Sobriety Tests- These will be available to Seniors and Juniors Only during 1st, 2nd and 3rd Lunch.  A sign-up sheet will be placed outside of Ofc. Dodd’s office to track which students have participated.  The driving course will be a cone course using the golf cart and the Field Sobriety Tests will be administered by members of the Hanahan Police Department.  Students that participate will be entered into a drawing for gift certificates to local restaurants (seniors) and a free parking pass for the 2013-2014 school year (juniors).

Thursday, April 24th

Class Presentations- Juniors and Seniors will meet in the Auditorium from 0930-1130 for a presentation by the Hanahan Police Department Traffic Safety Unit, South Carolina Highway Patrol and Families of Highway Fatalities.

Friday, April 25th

Prom- Members of the Hanahan Police Department will be at Alhambra Hall to ensure that all students attending the prom, are making non-destructive decisions, following South Carolina State Laws and local city ordinances.
