The Hanahan Police Department understands there could possibly be circumstances where applicants will not possess all the required data. Each case will be handled on a case by case basis.

There is a possibility your application is still processing. This process can take up to 6 months to complete. If a month has gone by, you can check on the status of your application by emailing the Operations Lt here.
We will always accept applications for positions with the Police Department. We keep applications on file for 6 months. You can apply twice a year per position.
Police Department applications are accepted year round. We will keep each record on file for 6 months. You can apply twice a year. If you completed your application online, recommended, than you must complete application and have resume’ attached for members of the hiring team to receive it. The system will not allow it to move forward without it.
The Hanahan Police Department will accept Patch Request in the following manner.
- You must submit a Patch as a “trade”
- Must include a Post-paid envelope for the return Patch.
- Only one Patch per collector.
You need to call the Police department and file a report. If you feel threatened, please call 911.
